Welcome to the official home of the NZ Black Gloves – ngā toa o Aotearoa
The NZ Black Gloves represent the pinnacle of amateur Muaythai in New Zealand. Selected from the nation’s top athletes, these warriors embody the values of mana, whakapapa, and whakawhanaungatanga — pride, connection, and unity.
Every fighter who earns their Black Gloves joins a proud legacy, wearing the black not just for themselves, but for their whānau, hapori, and iwi. Our athletes uphold the spirit of tū kaha (stand strong) and whakaiti (humility) both in and outside the ring.
Our People
The NZ Black Gloves are a carefully selected team of amateur Muaythai athletes who compete nationally and internationally.
In 2025, our team will be representing Aotearoa at the IFMA Asia Games in Vietnam and in Abu Dhabi, carrying the dreams of their communities onto the world stage.
